GMB fans unimpressed as Piers Morgan’s replacement for next week is revealed

This presenter is no stranger to filling in on the programme

Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid will be taking a break from Good Morning Britain for Easter starting next week.

From Monday April 5, viewers will be greeted by Charlotte Hawkins and Richard Madeley instead of the pair.

Charlotte confirmed the news on Twitter on Tuesday and fans were quick to share their thoughts.

A fan tweeted Charlotte saying: “Ha, I for one love it when @CharlotteHawkns presents, so looking forward to next week. Peace, calm and reasoned debate in the studio for a change.

“Bring on the Charlotte.”

Charlotte replied: “Thank you – I’m looking forward to next week too, I’ll be presenting with @richardm56 Mon-Wed!”

Fans couldn’t wait to see Charlotte host the show, however, many weren’t keen on having Richard – who has filled in for Piers on several occasion – back.

One person said: “Oh God Richard Madeley on GMB next week. He makes me cringe, reminds me of Alan Partridge on This Time.”

Another wrote: “@GMB please can you find someone else to present the program other than Richard Madeley, I will be switching off till Piers Morgan come back. Love Charlotte though.. (sic)”

A third added: “@GMB oh god no!! If Richard Madeley is on next week, I’m going to watch the BBC. Can’t stand Madeley.”

Others were looking forward to having Richard on the show.

One person said: “Enjoy your holiday @piersmorgan. GMB not the same without you. Please can we have Eamonn Holmes or Richard Madeley to soften the blow @GMB.”

Another wrote: “@GMB fantastic. Looking forward to watching next week with Charlotte Hawkins and Richard Madeley.. Let’s all of UK watch and smash Morgan’s overated ratings..”
