Alex Beresford has revealed he’s “grateful” after presenting GMB for the first time.
The 39-year-old made his hosting debut on the ITV show alongside Kate Garraway today (August 20).
Following the show, the presenter shared a touching message with fans on Instagram. He admitted the entire morning was a dream come true!
Alex first joined Daybreak as a weatherman back in March 2012.
Eight years on, the presenter has finally been given his big break.

Taking to social media, the lovable host shared a shot of himself with Kate on the GMB desk.
He captioned the post: “I pinched myself so many times this morning!
“I watched this show as a kid, never did I believe in a million years one day I would co host it and with arguably one of the best anchors in the game @kategarraway.
“Just taking a moment now to digest and reflect. Thank you for all the support! I’m so grateful on so many levels.”

Fans rushed to praise the star, with one writing: “I thought you were very natural, relaxed & did your research. Well done you.”

Alex Beresford’s Love Island admirer
During the show, Kate teased Alex over his new celebrity admirer – Love Island’s Amy Hart!
It comes after Amy revealed the dad-of-one is her celebrity crush during an exclusive chat with Entertainment Daily.
Kate said: “You’re already very popular Alex, not only with our viewers, who are loving having you on the show, but Amy Hart has come forward, you know Amy Hart from Love Island?
“Absolutely gorgeous girl. She has come forward to say that you are her favourite, favourite crush.”
Alex replied: “Yes apparently she followed me on Instagram a few days ago and she’s upset I didn’t follow her back.
“So maybe I will go on Instagram now… Hit me up!”

Alex went on to reveal he wasn’t going to “slide in” Amy’s DMs.
He joked: “I said I was going to follow her, I didn’t say I was going to slide in, Kate…
“I mean slide into the DMs!”
Kate laughed: “Oh, hello! It’s getting a bit exciting, I’m getting all hot and bothered, I don’t know where I am!”
What did Amy Hart say?
Earlier this week, Amy revealed she has likes the hunky weatherman.
The 28-year-old told us: “I will tell you who my number one is. The weather presenter from GMB, Alex Beresford.
“He’s just split up from his wife. I followed him on Instagram the other night.”
However, she admitted: “No, he didn’t follow me back. Rude!”
