Fuming The Chase viewers claim their evenings are ‘ruined’ as it’s replaced

The new show didn't go down well with some viewers

Fans of The Chase were left fuming as the game show was replaced by a rival programme.

On Monday night, viewers tuned into ITV at 5pm to discover Bradley Walsh was hosting a new series called Cash Trapped.

Cash Trapped sees six contestants compete to win big money and the aim of the game is whoever accumulates the most cash gets the opportunity to take their money and run.

If they succeed, everyone else leaves empty-handed – so their opponents must try to stop them.

However, many viewers weren’t impressed and accused ITV of ‘ruining’ their evenings.

Fuming!!! Can’t believe The Chase isn’t on. Day ruined.

One person said on Twitter: “@ITV should be ashamed of themselves replacing The Chase with the ridiculous dead confusing Cash Trapped, it’s absolutely garbage and you have ruined my evenings!!!! #fuming #thechase.”

Another wrote: “Day ruined. Sat down to watch #thechase & end up with #cashtrapped. WTF is this bilge? Awful. THE most annoying unfunny contestants.”

A third tweeted: “Sat down to watch #thechase What the actual hell.. Day ruined. #cashtrapped.”

Others loved the new series Cash Trapped.

ITV hasn’t yet confirmed how long The Chase will be off air for.

However, it seems it will be returning for a new series as Bradley recently teased the show is introducing a brand new Chaser.

During Saturday night’s celebrity special, which saw Good Morning Britain presenters Piers Morgan, Susanna Reid, Kate Garraway and Richard Arnold take on game show, Bradley revealed a new Chaser is coming in.

Piers asked why the ITV quiz show is popular, Bradley said: “It’s accessible, people love it, it’s ten years old now.
