Benidorm legend Sheila Reid has teased a return to the show as Madge Harvey, saying: “It is about time she came back.”
The 80-year-old star, who left the hit ITV sitcom in 2015 before making a brief cameo the next year, joked to Lorraine Kelly she has no interest in retiring from acting and left the door open for her acid-tongued character to make a comeback.
“We never know, do we?” Sheila pondered when asked whether Madge might make another appearance on the show, which has been running for a decade.
“I can’t believe it has been ten years,” she added.

Sheila made it clear she would continue to take on roles for as long as audiences want to see her perform.
Joking about retirement, she said: “There is a word beginning with ‘r’… I don’t know it, do you? What’s the point? It such fun, isn’t it? And as long as they want me… I want to be there. I love it!”
And on getting back into Madge’s mobility scooter saddle, Sheila enthused: “I think it would be great. I think it would be fantastic.
“It is about time she came back. She only left because she was so in love with her family.”
