Steve Dymond’s partner says he didn’t mention Jeremy Kyle Show in notes he left before death

Jane Callaghan is calling for ITV chat show to be brought back

The fiancée of Steve Dymond has claimed he did not direct blame at The Jeremy Kyle Show in letters written to her before his death.

According to the Sunday Mirror, Jane Callaghan was left three notes by the 63-year-old, who is believed to have taken his own life, which were found by tragic Steve’s bedside and passed on by police.

And now Jane has called for the controversial chat show to be brought back to the telly schedules – suggesting the ITV series was axed in order to make it appear decisive action had been taken in the wake of the deaths of Love Island reality performers Mike Thalassitis and Sophie Gradon.

Jane, 48, is reported to have told the tabloid: “I got three personal photos and three cards saying how much he loved me, how he has never loved anyone as much as me, how he’s sorry and he couldn’t live without me.

“Nothing was mentioned about The Jeremy Kyle Show in the notes – I can’t believe they’ve cancelled it before there’s even been an inquest.”

Steve is believed to have taken his own life earlier this month after failing a lie detector test on the show.

However, Jane claims Steve would have died ‘no matter the result’.

“He’d lied about so many things. He had a past, and at his age I think he felt he couldn’t start again and had nothing to live for,” she added.

Adding production crew checked on her “about 10 times” after filming and also again after Steve’s death, Jane also claimed the couple first split because she found out he  had not been truthful about several matters, including having grandchildren.

She also had doubts about the relationship about eight months in and started checking his phone after noting he received “hundreds” of emails from dating sites.

Claiming Steve ‘gaslit’ her, Jane also believes he knew he was always going to fail the lie detector test he underwent for the show.

According to The Sun, Steve was so keen to appear on the chat show that he “bombarded” producers with “300” calls.

Petitions to reinstate the daytime programme on ITV have received backing from thousands of fans.
