Fans call for This Morning to replace The Jeremy Kyle Show

Could Holly and Phil be on TV for longer?

The Jeremy Kyle Show fans have called for an extended version of This Morning to replace the show.

The talk show was cancelled for good following the tragic death of guest Steve Dymond, who had appeared on the programme and is believed to have taken his own life.

There have been a string of rumours about what will take its morning slot on TV, but fans have suggested This Morning – which is hosted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield – should start earlier.

A third added: “Hope they extend This Morning and put that on in Jeremy Kyle’s place.”

“The Jeremy Kyle Show has had a loyal audience and has been made by a dedicated production team for 14 years, but now is the right time for the show to end.

“Everyone at ITV’s thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of Steve Dymond.”

Meanwhile, host Jeremy Kyle told The Sun: “Myself and the production team I have worked with for the last 14 years are all utterly devastated by the recent events.

“Our thoughts and sympathies are with Steve’s family and friends at this incredibly sad time.”

Steve had filmed for the show at the beginning of May, hoping to prove to his partner Jane that he had not been unfaithful.

But he failed the lie detector test and was apparently left humiliated and traumatised by the experience and it’s believed he took his own life last Thursday.
