He's best known for playing serial killer Cameron Murray

Can you believe it’s been almost four years since Cameron Murray escaped from prison and held half of Emmerdale hostage in the Woolpack during the infamous Storm and Siege week?

FOUR YEARS.

We’ll just let sink in for a moment.

Anyway, since then we haven’t seen much of Dominic Power, who played the crazed killer, on our screens. Which is a shame as we think he looks really good on our screens.

Dom’s popped up in C5’s acclaimed drama Suspects and also in the first series of the rather brilliant Unforgotten, proving that he’s more than comfortable doing some serious drama.

But he’s heading back to his soap roots next month with a guest stint in Doctors.

Dom will be back on the right side of the law as Detective Tom Stanton, the DI investigating a stabbing that series regular Zara Carmichael witnesses.

Telly geeks like ourselves will know that Dom played PC Leon Taylor in The Bill for two years before the long-running cop drama was cancelled.

So we reckon being back in a police station will be second nature to him.

Bad news though ladies – no uniform this time.

We can also tell you that DI Tom is a bit of an alpha male and is described as charming. He’s set to be a key character during his stint, which is pretty exciting.

There’s also a hint at a romance between Tom and Zara (Elisabeth Dermot Walsh) when he’s impressed by her strength as a witness.

Dom played Cameron, Debbie Dingle’s boyfriend, from 2010 – 2013. His storylines included an affair with Debbie’s aunt, Chas, killing Carl King and murdering Gennie Walker.

He also killed his mate, Alex Moss, after confessing his murderous secret to him. He escaped from prison before returning to Emmerdale and holding everyone in the Woolie hostage.

Cam was eventually killed off when he was electrocuted in the flooded pub cellar.

You can catch Dominic in Doctors from October 25th on BBC One.
