Friday night’s episode of Supermarket Sweep appeared to go down a storm on social media – having received a mixed reaction earlier this week.
The first episode of the rebooted ITV show faced some harsh criticism, with viewers calling it “wasteful”.
But the latest episode fared much better, with fans saying it was an enjoyable watch and Rylan Clark-Neal was the perfect person for the presenting role.

Another viewer said they couldn’t work out why the revived show, originally presented by the late Dale Winton, attracted such bad reviews to begin with.
“I don’t understand why people are being so negative about Supermarket Sweep and @Rylan. It’s lighthearted evening entertainment and @Rylan is definitely the right person to fill Dale’s shoes,” they wrote.
A second posted: “So glad Supermarket Sweep is back. Rylan is hilarious.”
Another also praised Rylan’s hosting skills, sharing: “So @Rylan is (as I expected) completely brilliant and the perfect host for the new Supermarket Sweet. Some people are just naturally good at presenting, and he’s one of them. Wish he was my friend!”
Earlier in the day, Rylan had brushed off criticism of the reboot in a Twitter post.
The former X Factor contestant said: “Glad people are enjoying sweep. Even more glad that the people who tweet me saying they ‘hate’ it and I’m ‘terrible at my job and make them feel sick’ are boosting my viewing figures.
“God bless you dear,” he signed off.

After the first show in the series aired, some viewers slammed the it for being “wasteful”, with one tweeting: “Is it me me or did anybody else find #supermarketsweep offensive last night in the waste of food?
“In this era when people are struggling and having to use food banks, is this sort of TV show really appropriate? @SuperSweepTV may need a rethink or a statement on donating food!”
Another wrote: “#SupermarketSweep Rylan you are great and so far I’m quite liking the show. BUT can’t accept the shameful waste of those grapes. What happens to that fruit? Won’t watch again if this is the way of things.”

Someone else sarcastically wrote: “I see @SuperSweepTV its doing its bit for reducing food waste. #SupermarketSweep.”
Rylan had previously revealed all perishable food would be donated to food banks.
During an appearance on This Morning, the presenter said: “One thing that is amazing, and I want to make sure people know, is that every few days we donate all the foods to food banks.
“For TV purposes we want it to be looking pristine but there’s still three, four, five weeks on that fresh produce so we donate it.”
