Georgia May Foote breaks up fight on street between man and woman

Worrying rise in hate violence

Former Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote has called for an end to homophobic violence after breaking up a fight in the street.

The 28-year-old soap star revealed that she witnessed a woman being verbally attacked during a night out in Oxford.

Georgia was left “appalled” after watching a man verbally attack the young woman because she had “short hair”.

The attack was even more shocking coming so soon after the attack last week on couple Melania Geymonat, 28, and her American girlfriend, Chris, 29, on a London bus which left them bloodied and bruised.

Georgia also referred to award-winning play Rotterdam, which had to cancel performances in Southampton last night after two of its stars were the victims of hate crimes.

“I cannot believe I just had to brake [sic] up a fight between a man and a woman because of the names he called her for having short hair. By MYSELF in Oxford,” Georgia told her 328,000 Twitter followers.

“A small manc woman scared him off. After what happened this week with Rotterdam and the two ladies on the bus I am appalled.

“It is 2019. A year that is celebrating diversity, I literally cannot believe what just happened.”

Georgia who has been on Strictly Come Dancing The actress, and is dating rapper Kris Evans, added: “As someone who has come out of the other end of violence inflicted by a male I will NEVER let that happen in front of my face.”

She revealed that the woman involved “was already having a bad night due to problems with her boyfriend”.

Foote then called the man involved a “disgusting human” before adding “words cut very deep. I hope you learnt your lesson”.
