Gavin & Stacey Christmas special trailer: Fans ecstatic to see Nessa, Smithy, Bryn and the gang

Viewers' favourites are all back on board for the festive special

| Updated:

Gavin & Stacey fans have been having a wonderful time – and they’re not even having the gnocchi – by getting a good look at what will be served up by the BBC this Christmas.

A first look at the much-anticipated festive special showing Uncle Bryn struggling with his Christmas lunch prep was loved by fans when it dropped earlier this week.

And now a longer trailer has been released – and it looks like viewers will be getting the full Shipman and West treatment with all of their favourite characters back on board for the first instalment of the hit sitcom since the third series ended in 2010.

The action-packed teaser begins with Smithy busting out some moves to Elton John tune Step Into Christmas with Gavin.

And it isn’t long before they’re joined by Gav’s folks Pam and Mick for a bit of an impromptu boogie in the hallway.

Before long the likes of Stacey, Nessa, Gwen, Dawn and Pete are all seen – and even though Bryn’s plans look like they go awry, it appears nothing will stand in the way of their family Christmas.

They’re all hyped up, they are.

“What a palaver!” exclaims an excitable Pam, no doubt full of the Christmas spirit.

Fans commenting on YouTube made it clear they cannot wait to see the full episode.

“Omfg I can’t bloody wait,” said one.

“Can’t wait to see what’s been occurring,” echoed another.

A third commenter raised the stakes by remarking: “Oh I won’t lie to you, this better be good or Xmas is ruined!”
