There’s sad news heading for Emmerdale next week when the shocking news that Ali Spencer has died hits residents.
But while we might not have seen Ali since she was last on screen in 2015, she still has two family members in the Dales – her ex-husband Dan and the daughter they share together, Amelia.
Ali appeared in the show as a regular between 2011 and 2015 and while the exact cause of her death is being kept under wraps for now, it looks like her passing could stir up trouble in the village.

When news of Ali’s death reaches the Spencers, it is left to Daz to break the tragic news to his niece Amelia because Dan isn’t at home.
But when Dan later returns and his daughter breaks the news her mum has died, Dan is initially upset, but then furious that his brother told Amelia the news and didn’t leave him to do the grim deed.
Going into autopilot, Dan starts to organise Ali’s funeral – but despite the fact he is clearly struggling with the news his ex isn’t around any more, he is still angry that Daz told Amelia the news without him being there.
While Dan is doing the decent thing and getting plans into motion for their farewell to Ali – Daz heads off to the pub.
But once there he starts to drown his sorrows as news of Ali’s death spreads around the village.
However, one drink leads to another and it isn’t long before Daz is more than slightly worse for wear.
Kerry decides that he needs some fresh air and takes him outside… but once there a drunken Daz makes a shocking confession.
