The first of the four finalists to be sent through to the last sing-off was Tom’s contestant Deana Walmsley.

Emma went on to confirm who would be joining Deana and which two would be leaving the contest.

She announced that Olly Murs’ contestand Molly Hocking would be singing against Deana, and as the two celebrated together, she went on to make an apology.

“Tom and Olly looking very excited,” she said. “There is a possibility that something might have slipped out of Tom’s mouth that didn’t mean to, and if it did we are very, very sorry.”

Tom looked baffled by the apology, saying “what?” while fellow coach Olly burst into laughter beside him.

Viewers appeared as confused as Tom, taking to twitter to question what had been said.

But some claimed to have heard the same thing Emma did, insisting that the musical icon had said “Thank [bleep]” on hearing his contestant had made it through.

Whether or not Tom did drop an f-bomb several fans immediately jumped on the confusion, joking about what he might have said.

But the alleged tongue slip was small fry compared to the regular drama of a Voice finale, as Deana and Molly still had to sing for the win.

The two went up against each other, with Molly coming out the ultimate victor.

She went on to thank her mentor, Olly, claiming he was an “inspiration.”

“I am so so glad that you stuck with me through this and you are my inspiration now. You are my inspiration.”
