EastEnders have just announced another exciting new character comeback

We're pretty excited to see this one again

EastEnders has been throwing quite a few surprise comeback our way over recent weeks. First came the news that Masood Ahmed (Nitin Ganatra) would be returning.

Then there was the announcement that Tamzin Outhwait would be reprising her role as legendary Melanie Owen.

And now comes the news that little Tiffany Butcher is heading back to Albert Square permanently – only she’s not so little now.

In fact, judging from these new pics of actress Maisie Smith in the role she first played back in 2008 – Tiffany has turned into her mum, Bianca’s, mini-me.

Just look at that gold puffa jacket.

And just like her mum, Tiffany will be causing trouble wherever she goes after she turns up on Whitney’s doorstep in the New Year.

But why is she back?

Tiffany was last seen on the Square last year when she made a surprise return for Whitney’s wedding to Lee Carter.

Prior to that, she left Walford with the rest of the Butcher/Jackson clan when Bianca decided she wanted a fresh start away from the Square and moved her brood to Milton Keynes.

On her return, Maisie said: “It’s great to be back on the set of EastEnders. It’s been lovely to see some old faces and meet new ones too. I can’t wait to show everyone how much Tiffany has changed.”

Tiffany was a cute but cheeky six-year-old when she first arrived in E20 as part of the Jackson 5 – which also included Whitney, Bianca and Bianca’s sons Morgan and Liam.

Her size didn’t stop her getting into trouble back then either – stealing a top from Stacey Slater’s stall for Whitney to wear to a party.

She also caused problems between Bianca and their former neighbour, Zainab Masood, after vandalising the wall outside her house and then pouring soapy water over the flowers in her garden.

Tiffany had some more serious storylines as well, such as discovering that Ricky Butcher was her biological father – and not Whitney’s dad, Nathan Dean, as she’d grown up believing.

She was also bullied by Bobby Beale, but considering his later escapades, got off pretty lightly.

Maisie has already started filming at EastEnders’ Elstree Studios and her first scenes will be shown early in the New Year.

Welcome back Tiff!
