EastEnders fans speculate major character is about to return

Could another fan favourite be returning alongside Mel Owen?

EastEnders fans got themselves excited after a trio of old school stars met up for lunch this week, prompting rumours of ANOTHER major star’s return.

Tamzin Outhwaite (Mel Owen), Dean Gaffney (Robbie Jackson) and Michael Greco (Beppe di Marco) rolled back the years with a blast from the past photo posted to Instagram.

Ah, the memories!

The sweet snap was shared by Tamzin with the caption: “So lovely to see these faces at work this week for a chinwag. Such a fantastic atmosphere there.

“It’s been too long.”

Naturally, fans were LOVING the classic reunion… and couldn’t help noticing Tamzin’s choice of words.

She met up with Dean and Michael at work. At work?!

We know Dean’s Robbie is currently on screen, while Tamzin announced her return to Walford as Mel earlier this month.

But does her use of words mean Michael’s also coming back as Beppe?!

Fans certainly seemed to think so, leaving comments on Tamzin’s Instagram post asking if Beppe was making an Albert Square comeback.

“Omg what a great picture is Bepe back too?” asked one.

Another added: “Omg is Beppe back as well??? Yeeaaahhh xxxx.”

“Ooh! Have you given away something? – Beppe!” added a third.

Michael played coy on a return when he shared the same image to his own Instagram, simply saying: “So amazing to see this beauty @deangaffney1. Oh and this stunner as well @glamzin.”

Sadly for everyone, it was Dean who poured cold water on any chance of a Beppe return.

Posting the same image to his own social media, he said it had been a “funny day at work catching up with old friends” including Michael, who had just “popped” in to visit.

Aww. No Beppe return just yet, then.

We shan’t give up hope yet, however, as last year he did tell The Sun: “I’d never shut that door. If the offer was there, you’d have to consider it.

“I’ve been in LA off and on for the last ten years. I don’t watch much telly, so I haven’t caught up with EastEnders for a long time.”

In the meantime, Michael’s gearing up for a busy festive season after taking on his first panto role in ten years.

He’s playing Abanazar in Aladdin at the Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells.

While Beppe isn’t coming back to ‘Enders, fans will see Mel Owen back on screen soon.

She was last seen on the Square escaping with £30,000 of Phil’s money after she was falsely accused of being involved in Steve’s drug smuggling.

We predict drama! (Obvs… it is Walford, after all…)
