EastEnders fans fuming by Ingrid’s exit

There's a lot of love for the Brannings' nanny

There was a surprising amount of love on social media for EastEnders’ Ingrid Solberg after her departure from the Square last night.

But while fans were sad to see the underused character leave before she had a chance at romance with Keanu Taylor, they were also annoyed by her underwhelming exit storyline that seemed to be totally overshadowed by Mel Owen.

Despite the fact Ingrid has been on screen for less than a year, fans expressed their sadness that she was leaving Walford to go travelling.

Not just because she was a surprisingly popular character, but because she never seemed to have her moment to shine in the soap…

Some fans were fuming that Mel seemed to take over at the end of last night’s episode, not even letting poor Ingrid have the chance to be centre of attention as she departed…

Viewers were also bereft at the fact Keanu and Ingrid’s sweet romance never had the chance to get off the ground.

While a relationship might have been hard for the pair with Keanu sleeping on the sofa at his family home, fans think the couple should have been given more of a chance…

With Ingrid now travelling around the world, miles away from Walford, fans have hinted they’d like to see Keanu find comfort in the arms of Walford matriarch Sharon Mitchell.

After the spark that was seen between the pair last week you never know, stranger things have happened in Walford!

EastEnders airs Monday and Friday at 8pm and Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
