EastEnders fans think Halfway is hiding a dark secret and isn’t actually a soldier.
The alleged soldier, played by actor Tony Clay, recently returned to the Square with a tale of being a hero injured in the line of duty.
Viewers have watched him reveal he was a virgin to Whitney Carter, before they slept together as well as hiding his injuries from his time in the army.
However fans think he is really still working for gangster Aidan Maguire and was involved in Vincent Hubbard’s demise.
One fan writing on DigitalSpy forums said: “Halfway is secretly still working for Aidan.

“When he was working for Ciara back at the heist job, Halfway was undercover during the job and was brought in by Aidan to keep tabs on the loot.
“Halfway was never sent back to the army but has been in Aidan’s criminal compound the whole time.
“Phil is now friends with Aidan again and went to go see him about Vincent, Aidan had asked Halfway to do a job for him and assist Phil to take care of that police officer Vincent was originally seeing.
“Halfway managed to try and kill the police officer but got wounded in the process, Halfway regrets doing this and asks Phil if he could bring him back to the Square.
“Phil managed to convince Aidan to let Halfway leave and then they both got a taxi and returned to Walford.”
It’s certainly an elaborate theory!
Another fan added: “I don’t think Halfway is in the army either. Why was he involved with the heist?”

A third said: “I’m in the “working for the Maguires” camp and have been since the last time he was in the show.
“It just doesn’t make sense why he wouldn’t go to hospital with a bleeding wound, or to be sent home (from the army) anyway with a wound like that.”
But could they be right and could Aidan Maguire still be plotting things in Walford?
