As Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley interviewed an ex-MI5 agent on Good Morning Britain about the escalating Russian crisis, some viewers were distracted from the serious subject matter by an item left on show in the studio.
It seems Susanna, 47, had been touching up her nail polish before the live discussion with the agent.
But rather than hide the pot from sight, it was clearly shown to the right of the man as he was filmed from the back talking to the presenters, as he could not be identified.
Eagle-eyed viewers took to Twitter to point out the bottle and wonder why it was on show.
“Has Susanna been painting her nails before going on air… can see the bottle while they are interviewing ex MI5 officer?” one wrote.
Another said: “@GMB just being inquisitive why is there a brown nail varnish next to the MI5 spy?”

A third simply asked: Why is there nail polish on the side?”
Sleuth-like viewers could deduce that colour of the nail polish in the pot did indeed match that worn by Susanna on today’s show.
The mum-of-three’s varnish shade coordinated with the smart fuchsia dress she wore by designer Fee G.
Susanna is being joined this week by former This Morning presenter Richard Madeley as regular co-host Piers Morgan takes a break from the early morning show.
Richard said he’s loving his time in the role, declaring cheerfully at 6am: “Good morning, lovely to be back again, this is a real treat this for me. Not for you, but for me!”

“It’s a treat for all of us!” Susanna reassured him.
Piers is expected to return after Easter. His comeback will coincide with the show moving to a new studio – perhaps that one will have more places to hide Susanna’s beauty products!
