This Morning fans baffled as technical blunder reveals ‘fake’ set

The set's windows are actually plasma screens...

This Morning viewers were left baffled after a technical gaffe revealed that the set’s windows aren’t actually real.

Last year, the show relocated to a brand new studio while their London’s South Bank studio undergoes extensive renovation.

But despite being in a new studio in West London, This Morning brought its old view of the River Thames with it thanks to the magic of television and editing.

However, on Friday’s edition of the show, it decided to stop working.

Hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford were hosting a segment on Hector the lurcher, who has just been labelled Britain’s loneliest dog.

After being turned down multiple times, the show is doing their best to finally find Hector a home.

However, mid-way through the conversation, the windows behind Eamonn and Ruth turned black leaving many viewers confused.

Fans rushed to Twitter to discuss the blunder.

One person said: “Someone must of turned the window off on the This Morning set today oops and I thought it was a real window (sic).”

Another wrote: “Technical Fault on @thismorning black screen of death lol (sic).”

A third tweeted: “Are your windows real? I swear the whole city behind you blacked out a moment ago. I think someone needs to put 50p in the meter as those ‘windows’ are clearly using a lot of juice.”

Earlier this week, viewers were left in hysterics when hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were forced to cook on the show after chef Gino D’Acampo called in sick.

However, as the duo attempted to dish up a crab linguine, things soon turned chaotic.

As Phil took charge of the cooking, Holly took it upon herself to pop open a bottle of prosecco – but it didn’t quite go to plan.

The cork flew across the studio and almost hit a medic, who was on stand-by.

Phil jokingly exclaimed: “You nearly hit the medic! We’ve knocked the medic out!” as the studio burst into laughter.

Gino then called in and helped the pair finish the meal.
