Legendary show watched by every child of the eighties is coming back!

And its original US megastar will be at the helm

| Updated:

It’s official, Hollywood has run out of ideas.

And what are they doing? Yep, they are dusting off old telly shows and giving them a spring clean.

Over the past few years we’ve had reboots of Charlie’s Angels (above), 90201, Battlestar Gallactica and now… Knight Rider.

Yep, your kid brother is going to wet himself when he hears this, so please choose the right time to tell him.

Veteran actor David Hasselhoff has confirmed the action adventure series about a man and his talking car is set to return to our TV screens / tablet near you and has told fans to ignore previous attempts to revive the series.

He took to webcam to announce the news.

“I embrace Baywatch, I embrace Knight Rider – especially Knight Rider now we are in talks about maybe bringing it back as a series.

“Which is unbelievable.

“And it’s cool because all the people that have seen all the other re-boots of Knight Rider and didn’t like it are saying ‘let it be true to what it was’ – so let me be the old guy.

“I can’t run, I can’t fight, I can’t jump but I can still drive.”

David went on to explain that he will return as Michael Knight and the show would return as a full blown series and not a movie, like the recent Baywatch.

At the moment David is securing “the rights” to the series and has hinted that James Gunn, director of smash hit movie Guardians Of The Galaxy, could be involved in someway,

According to The Hoff, James was just eight when he watched the show first time around, when it was screen between 1982 and 1986 and he finds it very amusing.

But Knight Rider isn’t the only 80s show to get a reboot.
