Dancing On Ice’s Jake Quickenden sparks fears for Sunday’s show: “I can’t lift my arm, I’m ill”

Not you, too, Jake!

The stars of Dancing On Ice have been dropping like flies in the past couple of weeks, as several professional skaters and contestants came down with the flu.

And now, show favourite Jake Quickenden has sparked new fears ahead of Sunday’s show, after confirming: “I feel like I’m getting ill…”

Taking to InstaStories, the 29-year-old star posted a video with the caption: “Scared now”.

In another video he admitted: “I can’t lift my arm, I’m ill.”

It comes after ITV confirmed fellow contestant Max Evans’ partner Ale Izquierdo has dropped out of this weekend’s show.

The spokesperson told ED!: “Owing to illness, Max Evan’s partner Ale will not be performing this weekend. He will instead be dancing alongside Brandee Malto.”

And on Friday, finalist Alex Beresford, 37, also revealed that he is “really worried” what would happen on Sunday’s show, after his partner Brianne Delcourt was forced to pull out of rehearsals.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, the weather presenter confirmed: “Brianne is ill. She’s been ill over the last couple of days.

“She could only train for 45 minutes yesterday then she had to go home – she’s fluey.

“She got home, she messaged me to say she felt better. But then I woke up this morning to a message she sent me last night, saying she’s feeling worse again. So I don’t know what’s happening.”

Just last week, Jake’s dance partner, Vanessa Bauer was banned from rehearsals after she came down with a viral infection.

Thankfully, the X Factor finalist later seemed to perk up, and posted a video on InstaStories laughing and joking with his fellow DOI finalists, Love Island’s Kem Cetinay and rugby player Max.

The group played a game of football, with Max losing, which meant he had to pay for their snacks.

Jake added another video of himself in bed the next morning, and asked his fans if it was OK to eat jaffa Cakes for breakfast. He added: “There’s not like a rule saying I can’t?”

No Jake,  there’s not rule. It’s always OK to eat Jaffa Cakes.

Later on, the reality star gave us a glimpse of Sunday’s fairy-themed show.

He told the camera: “So I put this wig on, yeah? Messing about? And then I realised that this is my actual wig for my actual performance and I’ve got to wear it.”

He laughs and then adds: “I think I kinda like it a little bit…”
