Dancing On Ice: Brendan Cole rushed to hospital after hitting head during training

Ouch!

Ex Strictly pro Brendan Cole went to hospital after smashing his head during training for Dancing On Ice 2022.

The Kiwi TV fave, 43, revealed he sustained an injury while on the rink with skating partner Vanessa Bauer.

And although Brendan can’t remember actually hitting his head, he admits he is “horrified” that it happened.

What happened to Brendan Cole that meant he went to hospital?

Brendan indicated to the Daily Star he had to go to A&E after his mind wandered briefly as he was training on the ice.

He recalled: “I was on the ice and I took my mind off what I was doing for a second.

“I turned – and that’s the last thing I remember.”

Brendan also noted his fall resulted in a concussion which “horrified” him when he realised what had occurred.

How Brendan’s injury has affected him

Brendan admits he has come to realise he must be “100% focused” whenever he is on the rink.

It has been a great learning curve.

He continued: “The moment you switch off, you make silly mistakes. It has been a great learning curve.”

Brendan also explained other injuries can happen during training, including bruising and bleeding from skates hitting shins.

Vanessa’s back ‘gets sliced open’

It was revealed a few days ago that Brendan’s skating pro has also been in the wars.

Brendan accidentally caught her in the back with his blade, causing her to end up with a cut.

The 25-year-old wrote on Instagram: “Dancing On Ice really is a bit dangerous.”

Who is taking part in Dancing On Ice 2022?

Alongside Brendan, celebrities taking to the ice for DOI 2022 include Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens.

They will be joined by rugby player Ben Foden, Corrie’s Sally Dynevor, Paralympian Stef Reid and Bez.

Also taking part will be Olympian Kye Whyte, entertainment correspondent Ria Hebden, The Vamps’ Connor Ball, Love Island’s Liberty Poole and Regan Gascoigne.

The next series of Dancing On Ice airs on ITV in January 2022.
