Torvill and Dean may perform Boléro on Dancing On Ice 2018

Oh, please make this happen!

Dancing On Ice bosses are reportedly still deciding whether or not to let Torvill and Dean perform the Boléro this year.

There was outrage when it was claimed Jayne Torvill, 60, and Christoper Dean, 59, would NOT be skating their famous routine during the revamped 2018 series.

Or skating at all, actually, having swapped choreography for the judging table.

But in a new interview, the skating sensations kept hopes alive that fans WILL see them on the ice before the series is done!

When asked by Women’s Weekly if they will perform the Boléro, Dean said: “The new producers want to refresh the show as much as they can, but I don’t think they’ve quite made that decision yet.

“Dancing On Ice came about because of Boléro – that’s why it was created, out of the success of that – so we’ll see.”

Oh, PLEASE make this happen!

It would certainly be music to many viewers’ ears, as plenty have been begging Dancing On Ice bosses to let Torvill and Dean skate this year.

Torvill and Dean have been promoted to the judging table this time around and it was previously claimed they had been banned from the rink because they weren’t ensured to skate.

Dean told Daily Star Sunday: “This series they haven’t insured us to go on the ice. So they won’t let us go on.

“We aren’t allowed to do any dangerous sports in case we get injured. But I don’t get that. We’re judges, so could still sit there and do that even if we were injured.”

There’s a glimmer of light, however, even if Torvill and Dean don’t skate on TV: they will take to the ice on the show’s live tour.

In a Twitter video shared by the programme over the weekend, the pair were seen lacing on their skates and taking to the rink together for the first time in FOUR years.

“This is the first time together in four years,” said Chris.

“We’ve been on the stage on roller blades but not on the ice together in four years. It will be fun. It will come back.

“We’re starting to get ready for the tour. After Dancing On Ice finishes, we go into a quick rehearsal, and then the tour, so we hope we see you then.”

Jayne added that she suspected they’d be suffering sore feet after the skate.

Despite four years away, when the Olympians took to the ice, they were as flawless as ever, with fans describing them as “magical” to watch.

We agree!
