We knew it, and Coronation Street have just confirmed it – Rana Nazir DOES have feelings for her best mate Kate Connor.
In Corrie’s huge autumn trailer, released today, Rana’s feelings for Kate are addressed when she confesses how she really sees Kate, but does the waitress feel the same?
In two separate instalments of the trailer, one posted on YouTube, the other on social media, the story of Rana and Kate is told in two parts.
At first, Rana tells Kate: “I’m not gay, all right? I love Zeedan, I wouldn’t be marrying him otherwise.”
Kate looks a bit put out, but it doesn’t look like Rana’s telling the whole truth when she’s seen with her husband looking decidedly unsure as he suggests they make their marriage official.
“How about we get married legally, register office, the whole party, invite everyone?” he says, before kissing her.
She’s not convinced, and sure enough, she’s soon back with Kate shouting: “Do you feel the same about me as I do about you?”
But Rana’s probably not prepared for what she’s about to hear when Kate responds that it doesn’t matter how she feels.
“What difference does it make? Nothing’s going to happen between us,” she yells back angrily.
But why? Why doesn’t Kate want to go there? Does she value their friendship too much? Is she committed to new girl Imogen now? Or does she not want to be the bit on the side to someone who’s married to a man?
It became pretty clear Rana was confused over how she felt when she kicked off over a drunk Kate hooking up with newcomer Imogen.
Rana lost her temper with Imogen, suggesting she was taking advantage of Kate, but from where everyone else was sitting, Kate was quite up for it!
Show boss Kate Oates said in an interview with Soaplife earlier this year: “We’ll get a deeper insight into Rana Nazir this summer.
“Why has this previously flighty woman settled for married life, and what secrets lie in her past?”
Well, it looks like one very big secret is about to come spilling out, but how will everyone react?
Earlier this week, filming pictures were revealed of Rana and Zeedan’s wedding, so they do decide to go ahead with it – but will Kate stop proceedings and declare her undying love?
It wouldn’t be a Corrie wedding without some huge drama, now would it?!
