Colin Thackeray has won 2019’s Britain’s Got Talent, to the delight of many viewers.

The Chelsea pensioner – who had people of all ages chanting his name after her moved the audience with a beautiful performance during the show’s final – took the crown, pipping magicians X and Ben Hart to the post.

Speaking after he won, he said: “It’s just amazing. I can’t believe this has happened.
“It started as a dare, you know, about a year ago. One of the guys as I was coming off the stage at our club, having sung after the curry lunch and he said, ‘When are you going to do it?’ and I said, ‘What?’ and he said, ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and I said, ‘Don’t be silly.'”
And Colin has a wonderful plan for his £250,000 winnings.
Asked if he’d be sharing his prize money with his friend, he added: “No certainly not. I live in a wonderful place and I want to make a donation to that.”
And magician X – who revealed himself to be Ant and Dec’s golden buzzer act from last year, Marc Spelmann – was thrilled to see Colin take the crown.
He said: “I feel amazing and to come second to someone like Colin, who has given his life for us.
“I bow to him. I have the deepest respect. I absolutely love him. He deserves the win.”

Elsewhere in the final, 2009 winners Diversity returned for an amazing 10 year anniversary performance while Susan Boyle took to the stage with Michael Ball for a beautiful rendition of The Greatest Showman’s A Million Dreams.
