Celebrity Gogglebox fans’ fears for Shaun Ryder who’s lost his hair

Many of those watching at home were shocked

Channel 4 viewers expressed concern for Shaun Ryder last night after the Happy Mondays front man showed off an unfamiliar look.

The notorious former party lover appeared on the Celebrity Gogglebox sofa alongside pal Bez to pass comment on the week’s telly, including First Dates and The £100k Drop.

And while fans couldn’t get enough of the Manchester duo’s banter, many of those watching at home were shocked to see Shaun looking so different.

“Is Shaun Ryder okay? Just doesn’t look quite right,” said one social media user.

“Watching #CelebrityGooglebox and wondering if Shaun Ryder is ill. He looks shocking,” reflected another.

A third person stated: “Shaun Ryder looks terrible.”

However, many other viewers were so impressed by Shaun and Bez’s double act as couch potato critics – with several calling for TV bosses to give the Black Grape pair their own series.

“It was TV gold with you two 👀👌🤣✊,” tweeted one fan.

“Need their own show!” suggested another.

And a third added: “On Gogglebox you have made me laugh so hard my face hurts. Never stop being you!”

Earlier this week, Shaun explained during an appearance on Good Morning Britain that he has mysteriously lost all of his hair following recent surgery – and docs aren’t sure why it has happened.

He revealed: “I’ve just had a new hip, and at the same time all my body hair decides to fall out.

Shaun continued: “I have an under-active thyroid that makes you put on weight and slow down, [and] the doctors thought it might have been linked to that or the fact I don’t produce testosterone anymore.

“They thought it might be linked to that. Now it doesn’t look like that.

“They said it might be stress-related, but I’m the least stressed I’ve ever been in my life, so they’ve got a lot more experimenting on me to find out.”
