CBB’s Sarah Harding breaks down as she reveals being judged by the media during Girls Aloud days

Sarah opened up about how she lived her life in the past

Sarah Harding broke down in tears in emotional Celebrity Big Brother scenes on Thursday night as she opened up about being judged by the press during her Girls Aloud days.

The singer wiped away tears as she revealed she’s been hurt by the media a number of times.

Sarah admitted that being on the show is “like a second chance” to show people who she really is.

Speaking in the diary room Sarah, 35, opened up about living her life in the limelight and what it was like being in Girls Aloud.

She said: “When I was in the group, being on stage you have a persona and I was loud but I think people started perceiving me because I was acting that character in the band.

“I would work hard and play hard but I wasn’t like that in real life. They didn’t see me behind closed doors.”

The singer went on to explain that she’s had her “trials and tribulations” in the past but is determined to make people see a different side to her.

She continued: “I know I’ve had my trials and tribulations throughout the years, which a lot have been documented and misconstrued, and it’s hurtful.

“I haven’t got thick skin and people don’t realise that.”

She added: “[Celebrity Big Brother] is like a second chance for me to show people who I’ve grown into.

“I’m sick of being judged on my past because we all grow up at some point and you learn from your mistakes and your regrets.”

Sarah then put her face in her hands as she struggled to hold back tears.

Taking a few moments to compose herself she told Big Brother: “I want to make the most of this experience. It’s not every day you get the opportunity to make the most of your life.”

Before entering the house Sarah was making headlines over a reported “six-week fling” with EastEnders star Danny Dyer.

According to The Sun, Sarah thought Danny was single at the time – and was understandably heartbroken to discover that he was actually still with his partner Joanne.

A friend of Sarah’s told The Sun: “Sarah thought she and Danny were a perfect fit. They both enjoyed a good time and she loved being with him.

“He had told her he was living with his dad in Canning Town and that he was single.

“But eventually his mask slipped. She felt hurt and incredibly betrayed by him.”

There have also been rumours that Sarah is in a feud with former bandmate Cheryl, 34.

It emerged that Cheryl apparently unfollowed Sarah on Twitter.

Speaking about the reports Sarah told OK! Magazine: “Why don’t you ask Cheryl? I don’t know. It’s nothing to do with me.”

Before heading into the house Sarah had promised not to discuss the intimate details of her time in Girls Aloud but after last night it seems she could be open to talking a bit.

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm.
