Caprice reveals why she hasn’t told her young sons that they aren’t really twins

Her sons' were born three weeks apart, one from a surrogate

Model Caprice Bourret has admitted she will one day have to tell her two sons the truth about their conceptions.

The 46-year-old is raising four-year-olds Jett and Jax as if they are twins but they were actually born three weeks apart.

They are both her biological children with husband Ty Comfort but one was born via a surrogate after the couple struggled to have a baby for years.

Shortly after they had been successful via a surrogate, Caprice discovered she had conceived naturally.

Lorraine Kelly spoke to her about the “amazing story” on her show today, saying her boys are “like twins”.

Caprice agreed telling the presenter: “My boys are three weeks apart, they are treated exactly the same.”

She added that one day she will tell the boys about how they came into the world.

“Eventually I will tell them. It wasn’t very nice going through it, sometimes I just want to forget about it,” she said.

Previously, Caprice told Hello! magazine that she’s currently given the boys the same birthday – despite the difference in their actual birth dates.

She said: “If anyone asks, ‘Are they twins?’ I always reply, ‘Yes’. I need quite a long time to tell my story and they look so close in age it is easier to say they are twins.”

She added: “I will tell them the truth eventually, but I don’t think it will affect them in a bad way or make them feel any different. I love these boys so much, more than my own life, and I’m their biological mother.”

She said they can decide when they are older if they want to celebrate their birthdays separately.

Meanwhile on today’s Lorraine, Caprice also spoke about her recovery from a brain tumour.

She was shocked to get the terrifying diagnosis last year when she had to pull out of The Jump as she was suffering from headaches.

Surgery followed not long after, which she admitted was a scary experience.

“I was so happy when I woke up. And when you do wake up, you don’t know if you are going to be the same. When you do surgery on the brain like that you are very vulnerable,” she said.

She didn’t tell her sons about her operation but told them she was “away filming”.

“When I came home with bandages around my head, I told them I had a cool, new hat,” she said.

Caprice said she has recovered but will have to have check-ups every year and “MRI scans for the rest of my life”.

She’s now working with the Brain Tumour Research charity to raise awareness and funds to help others.
