Reports claimed younger cast members were going to be axed from the show.

Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent has responded to claims younger members of the cast could be axed from the show.

The actress has played Sophie Webster since 2004 and she doesn’t seem to fear getting the chop from new boss Iain MacLeod.

Speaking to The Sun, she said: “You see the reports saying these bosses are coming in and they’re axing loads of people, but we’re all just excited to see what the future holds.

“Producers come and go, they sprinkle us with love and then move on. That’s the way it goes.”

Brooke added: “We’ll miss her but Iain is again amazing. We don’t get the riff raff, we always get the good ones – people who love and care about our show.

The pair will go to a bar but be followed by Rana’s husband Zeedan who’s convinced they’re having an affair.

However, after following them Rana finds him and angrily sends him away while she joins Kate and Sophie.
