BREAKING: “Broken-hearted” Amy Hart quits Love Island

She's reportedly left the villa

| Updated:

Air hostess Amy Hart has left the Love Island villa after her split with fellow islander Curtis Pritchard left her “broken hearted”.

According to the Sun, a source close to the star said: “It was Amy’s decision to walk from the villa as she felt she had gotten as much as she could from the experience.

“She fell in love, had her heart broken and couldn’t stand the thought of seeing Curtis crack on with other girls while under the same roof as her.

“She was given therapy and support from the producers at ITV and they felt she was emotionally sound enough to make her own decision. They would never dream of keeping someone in there if they weren’t happy about it.”

A spokesperson for the show said: “Amy has decided to leave the villa after she didn’t find love with Curtis.

“She is a strong woman who knows her own mind and the show has given her the confidence to give finding love on the outside a go.”

Amy’s shock departure comes after she fumes on Maura Higgins in tonight’s (July 8) episode for persuading her to ditch Curtis, only to swoop on the ballroom dancer and admit she has feelings for him.

Amy accuses Maura, 28, of intentionally encouraging her not to give her half-boyfriend a second chance after he pursued new islander Jourdan.

Maura tells her: “From day one, I said that [Curtis] would have been one of the guys I would have gone for. I do fancy him. I’m an honest person, I can’t hold back, so I did tell him that I liked him.”

Amy savagely claps back: “But not honest enough to come and tell me first that you were going to do it?”

Maura then argues: “When I came in here, I felt that out of all the girls here, you were the one that wouldn’t let me in.”

“A lot of stuff makes sense to me now,” Amy replies, adding: “You were one of the most vocal that he didn’t deserve a second chance.”

Maura, standing her ground, says: “If you honestly think that I’ve done that to swoop in, you’re very wrong.”

Elsewhere in tonight’s installment, boxer Tommy asks social influencer Molly-Mae to be his girlfriend before the villa loses four islanders in a shocking doubling-dumping twist.
