Boyzlife Duo Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden Stir Controversy on GMB

Singers were in a jocular mood

| Updated:

They were only on Good Morning Britain for five minutes yet Boyzlife singers Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden managed to “offend everyone” during their brief appearance.

First of all, Keith caused offence by failing to wear his poppy in honour of the British Armed Forces.

Viewers were quick to notice that the red flower was missing from his lapel but the singer had an explanation.

“I don’t know how to put it on!” he explained.

The former Boyzone member, who has now teamed up with with the former Westlife singer to perform, admitted he was bamboozled over how to use a pin to attach his poppy.

With a pin ready and waiting on his jacket, his bandmate attempted to fix it for him but was equally flummoxed.

“You’ll just have to hold it like that!” he told him as Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid tried to press on with their interview.

They may have wished they hadn’t, as Brian then managed to forget the lyrics to one of Westlife’s most popular songs, and Keith Duffy offended the Nolan sisters in one fell swoop.

After Brian said Susanna looked like she could be one of the Nolan sisters, Keith replied, “she has a great figure, what are you talking about?”

Usually used to being the one offending people, Piers told Keith: “Oooh, you are going to get into trouble for that!”

Brian agreed, saying they’d now have to cancel any future appearances on Loose Women.

“Such is life,” Keith shrugged.

The pair then went on to poke fun at some of the places where they will be performing on their tour.

“Check out where we are playing,” Brian said, “Clapham, Leamington Spa – that’s a real place – Norwich.”

“I didn’t think any major rockstars played in Norwich,” Piers said to which Brian joked, “No, just us!”

They then must have driven their tour promoters crazy by failing to tell viewers how they can see their shows.

“Where can people buy tickets?” Piers asked them, setting them up to give a big plug.

“No idea!” Keith replied.

The Irish crooners had themselves in stitches with their high jinx as Susanna asked them, “are you hoping to offend everyone in the course of this interview?”

She was able to see the funny side but seemed rather relieved when the singers’ time on the show was up.

“Someone needs to take back control so thank goodness it’s time for Lorraine,” she said.
