BGT viewers slam Simon Cowell for ‘rude’ and ‘nasty’ remark to contestant

He criticised dance group Fabulous Sisters

Viewers of Britain’s Got Talent have called out Simon Cowell for making a “rude” remark to a contestant.

During last night’s semi-final, the judge was giving feedback to all-female dance troupe Fabulous Sisters, who had come all the way from Japan to perform.

However, they didn’t manage to impress Simon, who criticised the group’s choice of music.

Simon asked the group who had picked the music and one of the girls held her hand up.

The music mogul chuckled and said: “Oh. I wouldn’t hold your hand up,” as the audience booed.

He added: “Look maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think you made some right choices tonight, I really don’t, sorry.”

Viewers were quick to vent on Twitter, with many people slamming Simon for his “unnecessary” comment.

One person said: “Simon is so rude to down talk Fabulous Sisters. He’s praising the ones he wants to go through and that affects people’s votes.”

Another wrote: “Simon is obviously being nasty and rude because he’s realised he has no talent.”

A third added: “#FabulousSisters are the best dance act on BGT this year and one of the best I have ever seen. I had not seen their audition and had such an amazing surprise! Exciting, stunning choreography and so fast! I have found the act I want to win #bgt.

“Simon was so rude for no reason.”

Meanwhile, last night saw Jonathan Goodwin make it through to the final after one of the show’s “most dangerous” acts.

Jonathan, magic act X, and dance duo Libby And Charlie were the top three of the fifth semi-final.

X won the most votes from the public, with Jonathan coming second after deadlock on the judging panel.

The final of BGT will air on Sunday (June 2) at at 7.30pm on ITV.
