Ashley Banjo reveals Dancing On Ice injury concerns for Diversity star Perri Kiely

Perri said to be "in bits" and 'feeling the pressure' ahead of new series

| Updated:

Diversity star Perri Kiely is said to be “in bits” after his fellow dancer Ashley Banjo revealed the 23-year-old has injured his toe.

Perri is scheduled to make his Dancing On Ice debut within weeks – but according to Ashley is already ‘feeling the pressure’ of performing to as high a standard as is possible.

This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were left open-mouthed after Ashley – also a judge for DOI – admitted Perri has had to have his foot strapped up following a recent injury.

He told the concerned TV presenters: “[Perri] nearly broke his toe.”

“Oh don’t you break, Perri, we need him!” Holly insisted.

Putting Perri’s hectic training schedule for the ITV skate show in context as he simultaneously tours the country with Diversity, Ashley continued: “So he’s been strapped up, he’s been going to training, coming back on the train, doing the training, coming back.”

The kid is in bits.

He added: “Literally, the kid is in bits but he’s saying to me: ‘Ash, I need to be as good as I can be’.

“[Perri] feels all of this pressure where people are going: ‘Oh you’re going to be great, it’s going to be easy for you’… and it’s not.”

Coronation Street actress Lisa George, model Caprice, Paralympian Libby Clegg, TV presenter Joe Swash and magician Ben Hanlin have also signed up.
