Celebrity Big Brother has finished with a bang – taking with it the “showmances” between Ashley James and Ginuwine, not to mention the flirtations between Andrew Brady and Shane Jenek.
So we’ve got a reality-show-romance shaped hole in our lives to fill!
Luckily, we’ve found salvation somewhere we hadn’t necessarily considered it – Dancing on Ice.
New judge Ashley Banjo has talked about what he’s seen behind-the-scenes, and it’s not all purely professional!
He told the Daily Star on Sunday: “I can definitely see that there are romances happening.
“The way that some of them dance and the way they get close, it’s inevitable. I’m not going to say who, but yes, it’s happening.”
“You can see which couples have a better connection and which ones don’t.”
Dancing on Ice has almost as much of a reputation as Strictly when it comes to creating new romantic partnerships.
And it’s been reported that some celebs have been banned from appearing on Strictly, in case it spells the end of their current relationship!
Ashley continued: “You see it all the time on shows like Dancing On Ice and Strictly. There’s something about the way people connect when they dance. Dancing ties people together.
“It happens especially when you’re rehearsing week in, week out… you’re touching, you’re laughing.
“There’s something about the intimacy of it that just sparks romance. I met my wife through dancing.”
Ashley was too coy to suggest any names in particular had stood out to him, but the competition will be hotter than ever as the show reaches its halfway point.
Three partnerships have been sent home already, with Perri-Shakes Drayton the last to go, following Steph Waring and Candice Brown.
We’ll see who the fourth is when Dancing on Ice airs tonight at 6pm, on ITV.
