Plenty of couples have got together during Strictly Come Dancing but none of the dance partnerships have ever been in a relationship in real life before the show.
According to reports, professional dancer Dianne Buswell and her boyfriend, Emmerdale actor Anthony Quinlan, could dance together on this year’s series.
Australian dancer Dianne, 28, reportedly thinks their partnership would make great telly.
“Dianne and Anthony are excited by the prospect of being the first ever couple to dance together on the show,” a source told The Sun.
“Bosses think their real-life chemistry would be a massive draw for viewers and would really rev up the competition.”
Dianne and Anthony, 33, met at the end of last year when they were introduced by his former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks co-star, Gemma Atkinson.
Gemma made it to the final of the last series with Aljaž Škorjanec, and then waltzed off with another pro dancer, Gorka Marquez, when love blossomed in between rehearsals.
Like Gemma and Gorka, Dianne and Anthony have shared a number of pictures of themselves together with their Instagram followers celebrating their love.
“I’m so happy to have this one here with me,” Dianne captioned one of her pictures with the soap actor.
Earlier in April, he joined her on a cruise around The Med, along with Gemma and Gorka, as the Strictly dancers performed for the ship’s guests each evening.
Neither Anthony or Dianne’s appearance on this year’s Strictly has been confirmed by the BBC – who won’t give out any information until later in the summer.
The Sun’s source said Anthony’s potential involvement would also hinge on him being given time off playing Pete Barton on Emmerdale.
Dianne first joined Strictly last year, where she was partnered with Rev Richard Coles.
She’s currently waiting to hear if her contract will be renewed, as are all the other Strictly dancers, bar Brendan Cole, who has already confirmed his exit.
If the couple do both appear, there’s also a chance they could be separated and then have to compete against one another – just like Gabby Logan and husband, Kenny, when they danced in 2007.
A number of the professional dancers, such as Ola and James Jordan, have also had to compete against their other halves over the years.
Other celebs rumoured to be taking part in Strictly this year include Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain, former Treasure Hunt star Anneka Rice and football pundit Chris Kamara.

The line-up of professional dancers has also not yet been revealed, with the exception of Brendan, after the BBC announced in January that his contract would not be renewed.
