We’ve heard some reasons for people getting divorced in our time, but Andrea McLean’s really takes the biscuit.
The Loose Women panellist revealed today that she decided to call time on her first marriage after Kerry Katona told her to.
IN A DREAM.
In a discussion about whether anyone based life decisions on dreams they’d had, the Scottish anchor decided to share her staggering story.
“I remember when my marriage was beyond crisis, we needed negotiators like you see in films,” she began.
“They say when your marriage is breaking up, there is no lonelier place than your marital bed – there’s a million miles between you.
“I had a dream that Kerry Katona had just come out of I’m A Celebrity and I had to go and interview her.
“So I flew to Australia to interview her and she told me, ‘Andrea, you’ve only got one life…’
“And when I woke up, I knew I was going to divorce my husband.”
Former weather girl Andrea previously cited a different – and equally strange reason – for knowing that her five-year marriage to Nick Green was over, in 2005.

She told Loose Women last year: “The moment I knew my first marriage was over was when he couldn’t make cauliflower cheese. I just thought: ‘I can’t do this anymore.’ ”
Speaking about the breakdown of her second marriage to builder Steve Toms in 2011, in an interview with The Mirror, she said: “When I hear myself talking about ‘my first marriage breakdown’ then ‘this time round’ the words are like a stab in the heart.
“Because I simply can’t believe I’m in this position again. People think I’m Snow White… the most boring person in the world! I’ve only ever slept with two men and I married them both.
“I’ve always been choosy and never played the field but now here I am… a single mum with two children by two different husbands and two failed marriages behind me.
“I feel I have let my children down. They don’t deserve this.”
But it looks like there’s a happy ending for her and her family – the 47-year-old is now engaged to Nick Feeney.
