Noel Edmonds has vowed to quit showbiz if he wins I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
The television veteran, who has been a household name for half a century, is reportedly using “cosmic ordering” to visualise becoming King of the Jungle.
According to The Sun, the 69-year-old was overheard making the statement about ditching his TV career for ever.
He is understood to have told an unnamed third party: “I said in my pre-interview that if the nation votes me King of the Jungle, I will leave television for good.
“A wonderful inducement for the nation to have peace and tranquillity at last.”
Noel started out as a BBC radio presenter in 1969 and has hosted shows including Top of the Pops and the original Top Gear.
But he is most famous for hosting Saturday night juggernaut Noel’s House Party, with sidekick Mr Blobby, as well as BBC1 hits Multi-Coloured Swap Shop and Telly Addicts, and Channel 4’s Deal or No Deal.
The newspaper claims Noel has already chosen to retire to New Zealand, where he will celebrate his 70th birthday.
A friend reportedly said the TV star agreed to appear on I’m A Celebrity, for a whopping £600,000 fee, Down Under as part of his “cosmic ordering” plan, which is a form of positive thinking, because it helped make his dream happen.
“Whether he wins or loses, Noel will celebrate the milestone birthday on a beach in New Zealand with his wife Liz Davies,” they said.
“He believes this is another victory for the cosmic ordering philosophy.

“But he didn’t believe it would actually be possible until he got the massive offer from ITV.”
It is understood Noel will be the sole late entrant to this year’s jungle, where he will join the likes of Nick Knowles, John Barrowman, Harry Redknapp and Anne Hegerty.
