She gave birth to her second child in May

Alex Jones from The One Show has delighted her followers on social media with a snap of her baby boy smiling in a pair of shades.

The presenter, 42, took to Instagram to post a pic of three-month-old Kit beaming from ear to ear as he sits on his grandad’s lap.

Alex captioned the photo, which shows the pair sitting outside and wearing sunglasses, “Dad & Kit” and included a blue heart emoji.

Radio DJ Clara Amfo commented, “OMG” alongside a heart-eyes emoji, while former Strictly Come Dancing star Stacey Dooley commented with a crying face and Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown wrote, “I can’t deal with how cute this is”.

Alex’s fans also rushed to comment on the snap, as one put, “Gorgeous photo of grandad and grandson with the cutest smile” and another said, “Oh my… Kit is so, so cute.”

Alex and her husband Charlie Thomson welcomed Kit to the word in May.

Speaking as she called in to The One Show to chat to co-host Matt Baker, Alex announced: “We are now a family of four.”

Kit is their second child, as the couple already share two-year-old son Edward Alun Burrell Thomson, or Teddy for short.

Alex continued: “[Kit] was born last Monday morning. We’ve had a lovely week getting used to being a family of four and introducing him to Teddy.”

Teddy has proven to be a great big brother to little Kit, but as anyone would expect, Alex hasn’t had the easiest time – caring for a newborn while also looking after a toddler.

Last month, the presenter told her Instagram followers she was going through something of a rough patch with her eldest.

She said Teddy was in a “horrendous phase” but she was getting herself through it with the help of a parenting podcast hosted by TV’s Fearne Cotton.

Alex shared a screenshot from her phone of a Happy Place episode featuring an interview with child psychotherapist Philippa Perry.

She thanked Fearne as she captioned the post: “We’re going through a horrendous NOOOOO phase with 2.5 year old Teddy and I found this really helpful…”
