Coronation Street actress Lucy Fallon has showed off her new hairdo.

The star, who plays Bethany Platt in the soap, took to Instagram to reveal she’s chopped off her blonde locks into a shoulder-length ‘do.

The photo sees Lucy, 22, touching her freshly dyed hair as she posed for the camera.

One person gushed: “Omg loving it Lucy! You look fab,” while another wrote: “You look extremely gorgeous and beautiful with short hair.”

A third said: “Loving your new hair Lucy, it suits you.”

Lucy had her hair styled by Jay Birmingham, whose clients also include Lucy’s Corrie co-star Helen Flanagan.

The actress has been at the centre of a dark storyline in Corrie the past year, when her character Bethany was targeted by groomer Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) and a gang of abusers.

Last month, Lucy said she isn’t concerned about playing out the darker stories – and is actually hoping they keep on coming.

She told TV Times: “Everyone expects me to say that I want her to have happy storylines but I don’t, because the happy storylines aren’t as challenging to play.”

Meanwhile, earlier this month, Lucy defended Corrie’s choice to create dark storylines.

She told the Press Association: “I don’t think they should stop doing the dark storylines and I think Corrie is really good at having the dark storylines.

“They have been so well done and so amazing and raised so much awareness.”
