But soap fans might recognise actor Mark Cameron, who plays Neville, as he’s starred on the cobbles before.

He’s also had a part in Emmerdale, so he’s definitely a familiar face in Soapland!

Who is Neville in Coronation Street?

Emma Brooker‘s fiancé, Curtis, has been hiding a shocking secret – he’s not really dying.

But Emma thinks her husband-to-be has a terminal heart condition and could drop dead at any moment.

However viewers found out this evening (Wednesday December 1) there’s nothing at all wrong with his heart and he’s in tip top condition.

Neville’s arrival rocked Curtis’s lie considering he’d told Emma his dad had died.

Curtis quickly covers and says Neville is his stepdad rather than his actual father. Neville is devastated at his son’s lies, but goes along with them.

Will Emma smell a rat and realise something is up?

Who plays Curtis’s dad in Coronation Street?

Neville is played by actor Mark Cameron, who has been in Coronation Street twice already.

Between December 2006 and September 2007, he played the recurring role of DI Parks, a police officer investigating a fire at the Peacocks’ house.

He returned in 2017 as a different character: Stuart Pollock. Stuart was the husband of Moira, a work colleague of Liz McDonald, who scammed Liz with a free vape cartridge scheme.

Stuart was using the name Lenny Schnitzer and Liz snared him into a date to catch him out over his scam.

What else has Mark Cameron been in?

Mark started his career as a stand-up comedian. After winning a scholarship to drama school, he went on to land TV roles.

As well as his Corrie stints, the actor has appeared in Emmerdale twice too.

Most notably, he played Sean Rossi between 1996 and 1997. Sean was a chef who worked at The Old School Tearooms with Kathy Bates.

He and Kathy had a relationship, but it ended when she discovered he’d knocked down and killed his daughter while drunk driving.

Although he tried to rekindle things when her husband Dave Glover died, Kathy told Sean to leave and he departed the village for good in February 1997.

Mark returned to Emmerdale for another brief appearance as a detective in January 2020.

He has also been a doctor in EastEnders as well as having several roles in Doctors and Casualty.

Mark has appeared in many ITV dramas including Tina & Bobby, Brief Encounters, The Royals, Scar Tissue and Law & Order: UK.

What’s next for Neville in Coronation Street?

The soap has not revealed whether Neville will return to the cobbles after today’s episode. However, with Curtis’s secret bubbling away and his plans to marry Emma full-steam ahead, it looks unlikely this is the last we’ll see of Neville.

When will he be back? And what will bring him to Weatherfield again?
