Trafford residents have reported hearing screaming and explosions coming from the set of the famous ITV soap Coronation Street.
Onlookers were said to have seen flashing lights and a puff of smoke as the cast and crew filmed dramatic scenes.
Screams could also be heard from the set on Wednesday (October 16 2019) and people living in apartments nearby stepped onto their balconies to see what was going on.
Spoiler photos in the Manchester Evening News have shown a fair comes to Weatherfield and a helter skelter ride has been set up on the famous cobbles.
What I can say is it’s beyond dramatic.
An onlooker told the publication: “There was a flash and a puff of smoke and people could be heard screaming.
“There was a crash and a bang coming from the fair thought to be from a gas canister as part of a storyline.
“It was around 11:45pm and people were on their balconies wondering what’s going on. One man was only wearing a pair of of underpants.”
Sally Ann Matthews, who plays Jenny Connor in Corrie has already warned that Christmas on the cobbles will be dramatic.
She told The Daily Star: “I’ve just received scripts for Christmas. What I can say is it’s beyond dramatic. I’m not sure if I’ll be getting any turkey this year.
“Fiz is going to be quite busy.”
She also teased there may be a death adding: “I can’t say if anyone dies. If I told someone that, I’d have to kill them.”
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
