Paul O’Grady wanted for cameo in Hollyoaks

Paul O'Grady could be making his way to the village...

Paul O’Grady is wanted for a Hollyoaks cameo, by one of the Chester-based soap’s current stars.

Adam Woodward – who plays Brody Hudson – is keen for the For the Love of Dogs presenter to make a guest appearance on the Channel 4 soap alongside some pooches, in a similar vein to Alan Carr’s recent ‘Oaks’ appearance.

He told BANG Showbiz: “I know there’s been a couple of people on who have brought on their own dogs, like Alan Carr.

“Paul O’Grady has got his show so he could make a cameo with some dogs. That would be a good fit.

“He might be interested.”

Talk of Paul’s potential cameo comes just a week after Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan made several appearances on the soap as part of the epic Storm Week.

The pair played themselves in their capacity as co-hosts of Good Morning Britain, which saw them telling the fictional Hollyoaks residents about the horrific Storm Belinda, which wreaked havoc in the village and resulted in the death of Tegan Lomax (Jessica Ellis) after she was crushed by a tree.

And Adam has “no idea” how soap bosses are going to better the extreme storm stunts over the Christmas period.

He added: “I have no idea how they will top Storm Week at Christmas.

“But it seems to be the way. We did the whole school explosion and I wondered how they would top that. And they did.”

Susanna and Piers followed in the footsteps of chat show host Alan, who made a cameo with his two dogs Bev and Joyce earlier this year.

Alan’s scene saw him walking his dogs in the village when he stopped to nose in on a dispute Yazz Maalik (Haiesha Mistry) was having with Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) and Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher).

Afterwards, the 42-year-old TV host joked the part could land him a BAFTA.

He said: “I’ve had a great time. I can’t wait for everyone to see my cameo.

“It’s very good – it’s got BAFTA written all over it … maybe not.”
