Takaya Honda is keen to see a gay wedding storyline in Neighbours.
The actor, who plays David Tanaka, has agreed with some fans that it's about time the Australian soap featured a gay wedding.
It would certainly be timely, after Australia voted in favour of legalising same sex marriages late last year.
On screen, gay character David is currently dating Rafael Humphreys (our very own Corrie ex-pat Ryan Thomas).
I'm really hoping Neighbours gets the opportunity
But we all think he's still secretly in love with Aaron Brennan.
Asked by Digital Spy whether he'd like Neighbours to feature a same sex marriage, Takaya replied: "Absolutely! Whether that's a David and Aaron wedding, or whether it's somebody else. I'm really hoping Neighbours gets the opportunity.
"Neighbours have worked really hard to ensure they reflect the wider community so I think it's a really important step. Hopefully we get to do it soon!"
Neighbours fans were gutted when David and Aaron split up earlier this year, but Takaya has offered a glimmer of hope...
He laughed: "It's Ramsay Street - there's always hope! How it ended was a realisation of where they were both as people - in a relationship that didn't match."
Takaya joined the cast of the long-running soap, shown over here on C5, in 2016 and became an instant hit.
Viewers saw the doctor arrive in Erinsborough, battling to come to terms with his sexuality.
Could the next wedding on Ramsay Street be his?
