Hollyoaks on the lookout for fans to take part in new internship scheme

Interns will be able to gain experience in their "chosen area of production"

Hollyoaks is on the lookout for fans to work backstage as part of a new internship scheme.

Lime Pictures, the production company behind the Channel 4 soap, has announced the launch of an annual in-house intern initiative, Lime Interns, after its success last year.

The scheme will give nine successful candidates the chance to work behind the scenes within its Liverpool production base over nine months of paid work experience.

Claire Poyser and Kate Little, joint managing directors, said: “We are immensely proud of Lime Pictures history of discovering and nurturing exceptional individuals, both on and off screen and we are committed to making the industry accessible to all.

“Our intern programme delivers meaningful on the job training that enables the successful candidates to acquire knowledge and experience in their chosen specialist area as well as allowing them to develop a broader understanding of the wide range of roles and responsibilities within TV.

“The interns will be paid throughout their nine months and at the end of their time with Lime we fully expect them to be able to successfully apply for entry level positions across the sector.”

The advert states Lime Interns will gain a “broad understanding” of production, and will also be able to gain experience in their “chosen area of production”, such as Scenic Design, Visual effects, Costume, Make Up, Scheduling, Music, Camera, Sound and Story.

The application process is now open, but applications must be submitted by Friday (July 5).

Successful applicants will be invited to an assessment day on July 29.
