Of all the shows we miss from yesteryear, The Bill has to be up there.
Viewers became very attached to the regular characters…
So it’s always lovely to see a familiar face pop up in other shows.
The latest is actor is Chris Simmons, who is joining Hollyoaks this week.
Fans of the police drama will remember him as baby-faced Mickey Webb who worked at Sun Hill.
He won praise for being at the centre of a male rape storyline.
As an actor you are always looking for something to challenge and stretch you.
Chris has also popped up in Casualty and EastEnders.
He will first appear tonight in the E4 outing, which will then be aired on Channel 4 tomorrow.
Chris plays Stuart Sumner, and he will be part of The Tea House, which is replacing Esther’s Magic Bean.
"I’m delighted to join the cast of Hollyoaks. For me to play Stuart is a real challenge that I relish.
"As an actor you are always looking for something to challenge and stretch you; this character certainly does that…"
Hollyoaks' official Twitter account confirmed the news, posting: "New cast member alert! We're pleased to announce that @chrissimmons38 will be joining the #Hollyoaks family as Stuart!
"Make sure you give Chris a warm welcome, and tune in this week to watch his first scenes!"
