Gaynor Faye hints at return to Emmerdale just months after quitting

It is not all over for Megan in the village...

Gaynor Faye has hinted she is returning to Emmerdale.

The Megan Macey actress quit the soap earlier this year amid a crisis that saw it lose nine major cast members.

Her character Megan decided to leave the village after the death of her partner Frank Clayton in the factory fire.

“Leaving Emmerdale, yeah, it’s heart-wrenching,” she told Graham Norton on his Radio 2 show.

“[I left] to do the stage show. I just wanted to do something different. That’s what an actor does, I do different roles.”

But she intriguingly hinted that a comeback could be on the cards with Frank not being responsible for the fire or his own death.

I left in a taxi, so who knows?

Viewers know Kerry and Amy started the fire accidentally to cover their own thieving tracks and let dead Frank take the blame.

Gaynor added: “I left in a taxi, so who knows?

“I didn’t leave, I still see loads of people and Emmerdale’s around the corner, but I’m absolutely loving doing this show.”

She previously admitted it was a risk to leave the soap, adding: “It’s a risk.

“I need to push myself out of my comfort zone. I’ve always been the type of person who doesn’t want to stay playing the same character for too long.”

Either other actors have left the soap since with the upcoming exits of Andrew Scarborough and Anthony Quinlan particularly upsetting fans.

Gaynor is currently rehearsing for a stage adaptation of her mum Kay Mellor’s show Band of Gold.

The play, which will begin in Leeds this month before touring the country, also stars EastEnders’ Laurie Brett, Hollyoaks’ Kieron Richardson and Coronation Street stars Shayne Ward and Sacha Parkinson.
