Emmerdale’s Ash Palmisciano has shared a hilarious birthday tribute to his co-star and friend James Moore.

Ash, who plays Matty Barton in Emmerdale, posted a picture to his Instagram page of him cutting James’s hair.

Ash captioned the post: “Little something for the weekend sir? Happy birthday @jamesmooreactor you absolute legend!! Love working with you bro!!

“And remember friendship is about forgiveness yeah 😉 ha #JamesWithTheGoodHair.”

James responded: “Aaah thank you bro! Love you.”

Fans rushed to wish James a happy birthday. One wrote: “Happy birthday xx”

Another commented: “Happy birthday @jamesmooreactor! Have a great day.”

Ash and James both joined Emmerdale last year.

Whilst Ash was new to the show, his character wasn’t, the soap recast, with Ash taking over the role from Grace Cassidy.

Matty is Emmerdale’s first transgender character.

Matty was born a female named Hannah to John and Moira Barton. Hannah was on screen from 2009-2012 before leaving to go and live in London.

James joined the soap last year as Charity Dingle’s long-lost son, who she presumed had died at birth.

A 14-year-old Charity found out she was pregnant for the second time after being held captive and raped by DI Mark Bails and his friends.

Charity had been thrown out of her home by her father Obadiah after she fell pregnant the first time and gave birth to a daughter, Debbie, who was given to Obadiah’s friend Pat to raise.

Charity gave birth to Ryan in hospital, however she thought her son had died and ran off, blaming herself for drinking vodka whilst pregnant in order to stop her pregnancy.

Ryan survived, though, and was adopted by the midwife, Irene Stocks, who raised him.

Charity got into contact with a now 28-year-old Ryan last year and explained the full story.

Together Matty and Ryan have started a new business.

Earlier this year, James won the National Television Award for Best Newcomer and recently confirmed he would be staying in Emmerdale through 2020.

James’s girlfriend Sophie recently revealed how much James had changed her life.
