Emmerdale is set for a massive twist during its Christmas episode.
The ITV soap will have its festive outing this year focused on Aaron Dingle and Robert Sugden and now the cast have started to tease the episode.
Matthew Wolfenden, who plays David Metcalfe in the soap, told OK online that it will be a “really special episode”.
He added: “I’m not in it but it is a Robron episode which a lot of people will be excited about so it’s gonna be very different, it’s not gonna be a normal Emmerdale episode.”
The actor also teased the twist that will take the audience by surprise.
He said: “It’s got a real twist to it and it’s gonna be good. I’ve read the script, however I’m not in it which I’m annoyed about, but I’ve read it and it is really clever.”
Show boss Iain MacLeod recently teased the episode as being one of the weirdest he had ever done.
He said told The Sun Online: “It’s kind of a Robron single-strander which is probably the weirdest episode we’ve ever done and given that we’ve done some pretty weird episodes before that’s saying something.
“It’s really kind of out there and kind of the episode I’ve been most nervous about since I started just because of how crackers it is really.
“I think it’s really entertaining and dramatic. It’s got a surprise cameo on it. It’s stylistically a bit weird and romantic.”
