Sacked Emmerdale star Asan N’jie reunites with on-screen brother

The actor's final scenes aired last week

Former Emmerdale star Asan N’jie has shown there’s no bad blood between him and his ex-onscreen brother Jay Kontzle.

The pair reunited this week, one month after Asan was sacked after threatening to stab Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas.

Asan’s contract was terminated with immediate effect after his violent outburst, and he issued a grovelling apology.

However, many fans believed his sacking left his onscreen brother’s position in jeopardy.

Now Asan, who played Ellis Chapman, has shared a photo with his TV brother, insisting they are “still bruddas”.

Sharing the photo with his Twitter and Instagram followers, Asan proved there are no hard feelings.

He added: “Jay said I looked like Bart Simpson when my hair was this long. Emmerdale and all the supporters changed my life, I love you guys. Now go take what’s yours!”

And some of his co-stars were quick to comment on the pic.

Their onscreen mum Sandra Marvin, who played Jessie, simply joked: “Oh lord.”

James Moore, aka Ryan, replied with three heart emojis, while one fan speculated: “If his colleagues are supporting him, maybe just maybe they know more, they realise the other guy wasn’t blameless.”

Another said: “Will miss you Ellis! Played a good part. Think the public should decide your fate, as many people still like you and are behind you.

“We all make mistakes, we say things we don’t mean… We are only human. At least one good thing… You have made some amazing friends.”

Last week, Asan broke his Twitter silence after his shock sacking to thank his supporters, saying: “All the people who’ve reached out and had my back you’ll never know how much I appreciate you.

“I’ve learned, I’ve grown and now I’m working harder than ever to finish what I started.

“Keep your circle tight and always fall forward! The universe tends to unfold as it should.”

After being sacked in September, Asan was escorted off the premises of the ITV soap and stepped away from the limelight.

ITV said in a statement last month: “Emmerdale suspended Asan N’Jie yesterday pending further investigation into an incident at a central London hotel on Monday night.

“ITV executives have met with him this morning and as a consequence Asan’s contract has been terminated with immediate effect.”

Asan released his own statement, in which he apologised, saying: “My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very much out of character.

“I sincerely apologise to everybody who has been affected, especially Jamie Lomas, the whole Emmerdale team, our audience, ITV, my family, and the organisers of the TV Choice Awards.

“I am devastated, accept full responsibility for my actions and I am determined to learn from this.”

Emmerdale aired his final scenes last week, when Billy Fletcher revealed his brother Ellis had followed his mum Jessie to Dubai for a job opportunity.
