Fans have said a giant ‘I told you so’ as Gerry’s so-called uncle has finally been exposed as a conman.
Emmerdale viewers were appalled to discover the truth about the newcomer, who had posed as Gerry’s relative after his untimely death.

While many suspected that Terry was not all he seemed, it was still a shock when he was exposed at the end of Thursday night’s episode (7 June).
Fans called the deceitful fraud “garbage” and “fishy”.
Most were upset to see poor Doug Potts running around after Terry, (wrongly) feeling responsible for Gerry’s death.

Doug was doing everything he could to help the criminal, offering to cook his dinner and even later confiding in Lachlan White that he’s sold his car to raise some more cash for Terry.
But, by the end of the episode, Terry – if that’s even his real name – had shown his true colours…
The dodgy character was seen making a phone call, revealing that he isn’t actually related to Gerry at all and that he’s only after Doug’s cash.
He revealed: “It looks like I’m finally on my way home… being here so long, I’ve started to believe the kid actually was my nephew. Just sit tight until tomorrow, and then it’s jackpot time.”
Some fans weren’t that sympathetic, however, calling Doug “gullible”, “thick” and “a silly old fool”.

Others threw their anger in Terry’s direction, with many claiming to have guessed his true intentions long ago.
One said: “I kind of had a feeling but damn Terry really is a piece of garbage.”
Another said: “Bingo . I bloody knew it. He was never Gerry’s uncle. He probably knew him from prison. He’s a conman.”
A third wondered why Gerry was homeless if “Terry was such a good bloke”, while another even connected Terry’s arrival in Emmerdale with Amelia’s disappearance.

Gerry was murdered by former cellmate and best friend Lachlan at the B&B building site.
Terry arrived and threatened to sue owner Doug for negligence. But we all know it wasn’t his fault.
