Isabel Hodgins has revealed why she really cut her long locks into a pixie crop during an appearance on Loose Women today.
And during a conversation with Christine Lampard, Nadia Sawalha, Carol McGiffin and Jane Moore, Isabel was asked about her new look.
Revealing the reason behind her decision to have the chop, she replied: "It's just thick and curly and unruly and I was just like: I've had it for 25 years and I'm over it."
Christine asked whether she'd had to get permission from soap bosses and Isabel replied: "Yeah that's the thing, I'm a woman and I have to ask 'can I get my hair cut?'
"They said they could tie it into the story and it just went from there.
It's just thick and curly and unruly.
"My life is so much easier!"
On screen, Victoria went on a trip to France with brother Robert Sugden.
The chef had already cut her hair into short bob, but returned with an even shorter pixie cut.
Her ex mother-in-law Moira said she "looked amazing" and the haircut "really suited" her whilst her stepmother Diane told her: "I love your hair. It looks great on you."
Some viewers agreed with Moira and Diane's comments.
Others weren't too keen on her new look and even compared her to Star Trek characters.
Victoria was recently raped by a man named Lee who she met in a club on the Big Night Out.
Although she tried to keep it to herself and told everyone she had the flu, her ex-mother-in-law Moira could tell something wasn't right and persuaded Vic to open up.
After going to the police, the chef took a pregnancy test and found out she was in fact pregnant with Lee's baby.
Isabel talked about the plotline while on Loose Women, explaining she was unsure about taking it on at first as the rest of the female cast are so strong, she said: "It's a big responsiblity.
"So many people have gone through this and lived it and I wanted to make sure we told it right and it was done respectfully but also so people got it, how horrendous it is."
She also revealed she watched The Accused and Three Girls to study the rape scenes so they got it right.
Emmerdale airs Monday to Friday at 7pm with an extra episode on Thursday at 8pm.
